Cogmed Working Memory Training
About Cogmed
Cogmed Working Memory Training is a computer-based method for attention problems caused by poor working memory. Cogmed is a well-documented, scientific method for people constrained by their working memory capacity, either by birth, injury/disease, or due to aging.
Why Cogmed?
This research-based, innovative training is only available through select providers. As a Cogmed Provider, we work with each user to provide guidance, motivation, and feedback on the progress.
The Cogmed program is rigorous, but rewarding, and for maximum efficiency, sustained effort and professional guidance are critical. Cogmed has a proven track record of providing users with excellent support and results. As a Cogmed provider, we provide screening to evaluate the possible benefits of each of our clients using this method.
What does Cogmed do?
Working memory supports better academic and professional performance and is used for a number of things:
The Cogmed program consists of 25 training sessions completed online, each 30-45 minutes long.
Every session includes a variety of selected tasks targeting different working memory components.
The program includes different exercises that automatically adjust during the training period. As the user improves, the difficulty increases.
The training takes place online at home, in school, or at work. For children, the parent/training aide does not need to set or change anything – this is done automatically.
The standard duration of the program is 5 weeks long with 5 sessions every week. Through systematic training, this intensive method works at enhancing working memory and attentional behavior.
